"Megaman: Polarity X"
An abandoned attempt at a sequel to the first game.

After Megaman defeated Vile and Sigma from the future with the help of X, X returns to his own time only to have Zero tell him that the lab he visited in the past isn't completely dormant. X rushes to the scene to put an end to this unauthorized use of future (even for his time) technology once and for all...

About a year after making the first game, I realized that I wanted to use the elements of both component games that I didn't get to use the first time for whatever reason. Amongst these were selectable stages like in the Megaman series or the chain-scoring system of Ikaruga. Also, since it was the X series, Dr. Light upgrades could facilitate other uses of Ikaruga technology into X's weapon systems. However, after trying to adapt the code to work with the new mechanics of the X series, I realized it was going to need more than a simple patch job to complete.

"Megaman: Polarity X" is in development hell. I released an April Fool's Day joke on Newgrounds called "Megaman: Polarity Omega" which ended, after little action, in a nuclear explosion completely obliterating X and Zero. I've abandoned the project, mainly due to the fact that even though it has new elements, it's not much of "new frontier" compared to the first game, and I do like to evolve my Flash skills with each new project. There is a new project involving Megaman currently in development, called "The Next Robot Master".
