Several hundred years in the future, an object known as "The Power of the Gods" gave people calling themselves "The Divine Ones" the power to conquer the world. It wasn't until an experimental fighter jet called "Ikaruga" was built with the ability to switch and absorb polarites that the Divine Ones were defeated. Due to a malfunction caused by a skirmish with a leftover enemy ship, the Ikaruga was sent to 20XX and Dr. Light was able to send the Ikaruga back to his time, but then learned enough on how to integrate the technology into Megaman.
The first installment of the Polarity series was simply called "Polarity." (However, it has since been "retconned" to be called "Megaman: Polarity" in the submission as well.) It was a simple little movie with a text introduction, and pitiful excuses for humor and an action sequence. I easily didn't spend as much time on it as I have for other submissions. But as a first try, I didn't know how long a good Flash submission usually took to make.
To link it with Megaman, since it was a "Megaman mini-sode" if you will, I submitted it to Newgrounds with the title "Megaman: Polarity" as I've seen done before where the actual title of the submission didn't meet the "series" it was a part of. I was surprised it didn't get "blammed" (deleted for too low of a score) and people were wanting more. However, I took the constructive criticisms to heart as well and began work on "Megaman: Polarity 2."
